West Coast assistant coach Daniel Metropolis has revealed $436k ruckman Dean Cox was close to playing this week but should right to play next round.
Cox, owned by over 100,000 DT coaches, has been battling a niggling groin problem and missed last weekend's win over Hawthorn.
Metropolis explained at Eagles training today, "Coxy still just pulled up a little bit sore on Thursday after training.
"He wanted to play, but we thought it was best that if he's not quite right we'd give him another week to settle down."
Metropolis also explained $240k midfielder Daniel Kerr's absence after he was withdrawn from the squad to face Melbourne due to soreness.
"Kerry's just been a bit sore over the last few weeks. Again we thought he could play, but it was in his best interests to get himself right and get him up and going for the latter part of the year.
Metropolis concluded, "So they should only be another week away."
