Chapman Will Play Next Week: Thompson

Geelong coach Mark Thompson is optimistic gun forward Paul Chapman will get over an injury scare from Friday's loss to the Bulldogs and play in Round 22.

Chapman is a popular DT player who many coaches own and his availability for Round 22, Grand Final week in the world of DreamTeam, is crucial.

Thompson said, “I think Paul Chapman will play next week and I think James Kelly will play next week and Brad Ottens will play in the VFL tomorrow night and hopefully he has a great game and gets through and we put him in the team."

The Geelong boss also spoke about another popular Cats forward, "Then Steve Johnson plays and we are up and about."

Adcock Back For Round 22?

DreamTeam coaches who hung onto Brisbane's Jed Adcock might be in for some luck with the defender a chance to play in Round 22.

Adcock will play in the AFLQ this weekend after suffering a seemingly season-ending knee injury six weeks ago. And if Adcock gets through that match, Brisbane may give him a run in Round 22.

Lions coach Michael Voss said, "We toyed with playing him back in seniors but we think realistically to give him the best chance to come back is probably better through reserves.

"You should see Jed. He's going to rip a few people's heads off at the moment."

Robinson Gone For Year

Carlton's popular $193k back-up midfielder Mitch Robinson has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his foot.

Robinson, who is owned by over 22,000 DT coaches, has succumbed to the troublesome injury.

Carlton coach Brett Ratten said today, "We found out late yesterday that his season was finished.

"He's had it for a little bit. He's had some signs there that he was sore in his feet, but it really raised it's head after the [Port] game."

Around The Grounds

--- Collingwood's $341k ruckman Josh Fraser is set to return to AFL footy after a knee injury. Pies onballer Dayne Beams said about Fraser (who is owned by over 23,000 DT coaches), “Josh got through training today and I think his knee’s pretty good. He’ll be up for selection this week and Pebs (Anthony Rocca) played another game in the VFL on Sunday and got through well and played well."

--- Despite reports to the contrary yesterday, there's some good news from Essendon about Dustin Fletcher and Patty Ryder. Bombers coach Matthew Knights said, "With Dustin, it looks like being better than first thought. The scans look like they're clear, and we'll assess him as the week goes on." Knights added about Ryder, "It's also better than we first thought. I think he's strained or hurt a popliteus [muscle] behind the knee, but he's going to be shorter rather than longer as well, preferably one week, but maybe two or three."

--- North Melbourne's $309k midfielder Daniel Wells has admitted his injury-plagued season is officially over with osteitis pubis his last problem. Wells told kangaroos.com.au, "There are only two games to go but thinking about it, I tried really hard to get back and play but it wasn't to be. That's it for the rest of the year."

--- Geelong's gun $466k forward Paul Chapman should be available for this weekend's clash with the Bulldogs after he was taken off the club's injury list. James Kelly (hamstring), Darren Milburn (ankle), David Wojcinski (ankle) and Max Rooke (knee) will all face tests while Travis Varcoe has been ruled out for 3-4 weeks with a shoulder injury.

--- The Western Bulldogs have revealed $352k midfielder Ryan Griffen will miss two weeks with a hamstring problem. Also Tom Williams (foot) will miss 2, while Daniel Cross (ankle) still another but Shaun Higgins should return, while Dan Giansiracusa is fit, but will come back via the VFL. Also Rob Murphy & Brad Johnson should be okay for this weekend despite picking up corked thighs in Brisbane.

DT Round 20 Movers & Shakers

With the finals well and truly underway this week's Movers & Shakers update will take on a newlook. I've revised it all down, as I'm sure most of those DT coaches who are still in the running aren't thinking too much about the future and focusing on the now. Anyway, speaking of the now, right now I'm back and updating the site so check it all out, including the injury list on the sidebar which is all fresh. Anyway to the DT footy.

For Adelaide, ruck/forward Kurt Tippett drops down $15k to $285k after a score of 40. I'm a fan of Tippett and if you need another ruckman he might be worth a punt.

For Hawthorn, gun forward Lance Franklin still represents great value after a score of 93, he's down $8k to a very affordable $329k.

For Collingwood, premium midfielder Dane Swan (125) is sliding into nice value just in time for the GF down $10k to $474k which is still ridiculous but better than before, with a BE of 144 next week.

For Richmond, not much going on there although Shane Tuck is okay value following a score of 68 he's down $33k to $370k.

For West Coast, midfielder Matt Priddis remains solid value after posting 106 he's up slightly $1k to $354k which is a good price for a consistent player.

For North Melbourne, big ruckman Hamish McIntosh is at an affordable price having scored 72, down $16k to $346k.

For the Western Bulldogs, two players worth a look are defender Ryan Hargrave (71) down $27k to $345k and forward Robert Murphy (90) down $13k to $333k.

For the Brisbane Lions, midfielder Luke Power is another consistent gun going at a nice price, with a score of 81 taking him down a small $2k to $347k.

For Geelong, if you're up for a punt get on a cheap, but slightly injured, Stevie Johnson (79) who's perhaps regaining form down $25k at an affordable $337k.

For Sydney, forward Ryan O'Keefe has slid after a peaking out and following a score of 104 he's down $23k to a juicy price of $390k.

For Melbourne, small forward Aaron Davey remains lovely value after a score of 119, he's up $4k to an extremely affordable $320k. Worth a punt?

For Fremantle, a nice one is ruckman Aaron Sandilands who posted 95 on the weekend yet drops $12k to $368k which is really affordable especially considering his upcoming opponents, Essendon, are short on rucks this week.

For Carlton, skipper Chris Judd is probably the best player in the comp yet is pretty cheap in DT world, down $4k to $336k after a score of 86 this week. He's a risk-free good thing, if you're looking to consolidate a finals win.

For Port Adelaide, midfielder Dom Cassisi is one who could be useful addition after a score of 41, he's down $47k to an affordable $332k. Tempting.

For Essendon, young back Jarrod Atkinson could be one worth a punt after a score of 82 he stays at $179k after 2 games. If you need to take a risk, perhaps a downgrade to Atkinson in defence, could generate some cash for a gun elsewhere. Not a bad idea after his game on the weekend.

Finally for St Kilda, defender Brendon Goddard is a DT must and if you haven't got him, he's down $11k to $408k after a score of 66 on the weekend with a BE of 159 next week. Get on fast.

Bock Gone For DT09?

Adelaide's popular $368k defender Nathan Bock could miss the rest of the DreamTeam season with a heel troubling him.

Crows footy manager John Reid said about Bock, who is owned by almost 16,000 DT coaches, “Nathan’s improving. By about this stage next week we might be able to see how the injury’s going and he might be able to have a light run.

“On the good end, Nathan could be available for the Carlton game [in round 22], but on the bad end he might play none [of the remaining games].”

Brett Burton will miss this weekend's clash with West Coast having aggravated a corked buttock in training, while Pat Dangerfield (back) and Dave Mackay (knee) should return to training midweek and will be in the mix for selection.

Also $86k def/fwd Shaun McKernan is expected to return from a broken arm via the SANFL this weekend and could be a handy addition if he plays AFL in Round 22.
